TOWN OF ROXBURY, MAINE DOG LICENSE REMINDER
Dog Licenses Expire on December 31
Your dog license expires every year on December 31. Please come in to the Town Clerk's Office to license your dog at your earliest convenience. Any dog that remains unregistered as of February will be subject to a late fee of $25.00 per dog and may be summoned to court by the Animal Control Officer. These fines and deadlines are required by state law and cannot be waived locally.
We rely on the State of Maine Animal Welfare Laws and Regulations publication which states if you become an owner of a new dog aged 6 months or more, a license shall be obtained within ten days. A municipal clerk may not issue a license for a dog until the owner has filed with the clerk proof that the dog has been immunized against rabies in accordance with rules adopted by the Commissioner of Health and Human Services
To re-license your dog, owners may come into the Roxbury Town Office during our business hours: Wednesday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Please bring in a current rabies certificate so we may update our records.
If something happens to your dog, please notify the office so we won't be sending you a notice to come in and register your dog.
The current dog license fees, without the late fee, are:
$6.00 - neutered or spayed dogs $11.00 - male or female dogs

Please send a check payable to the Town of Roxbury, for the appropriate fee, a copy of your most recent rabies certificate, the remittance form and we will process the license, send you a current tag and receipt.
